The IPC-4 is a highly compact industrial PC for direct assembly at the TS35. Due to the modular concept of the IPC-4 it is possible to fit the device perfectly to any process requirement. Frequencies from 600 MHz with an Intel Celeron M to 2 x 2.16 GHz with an Intel Core 2 Duo provide top-performance even at high-end applications. In addition, it is possible to built in 4 GiB RAM.

The Sata hard drives are cleared for 24/7 operations and also available with an enhanced temperature range. An optional use of solid state disks (SSD) without rotating components guarantees highest industrial reliability even in rough environments. The standard interfaces of the IPC-4 are six USB 2.0, two Gigabit Ethernet (10/100/1000 BaseT), two serial interfaces, DVI and VGA.

The modular design allows customer-specific extensions according to the application in which the IPC-4 is used. Sontheim provides PCI104 and PC104+ cards for integration into the case. The left side of the front panel offers all standardized interfaces whereas the right side can be configured freely. Consequently, the IPC-4 can be operated as a specialist for various requirements: CAN, Firewire, digital and analog inputs and outputs, frame-grabber and many more functions. The IPC-4 can also be used as a PLC by using a Soft-PLC with IEC 61131.
