ECUcore - insert-ready system on module (SOM) with pre-installed operating system and IDE
Based on the accumulated experience of numerous customer projects, our ECUcore SOM combines a state-of-the-art hardware design with production-ready operating system and board support package pre-installed.
As a hardware base for our PLCcore modules, the ECUcore is programmable on OS level only while the PLCcore is programmable on OS-level (C/C++) and PLC-level (IEC 61131-3). Of course, our ECUcore starter kits include a fully featured Eclipse-based C/C++ integrated development environment (IDE) to accelerate your application design.
Available complementary software components
- CANopen source code to support CiA 301/302/304 compliant application development
- Ethernet Powerlink source code
ECUcore-9263
With our ECUcore-9263 we respond on growing requirements for HMI-enabled applications. Having in mind the ever present cost pressure and demands on performance, the ECUcore-9263 perfectly balances both. It provides a simple yet performance-optimized hardware platform combined with a production-ready, GUI-enabled operating system.
ECUcore-9G20
Based on a fast ARM9 CPU, the ECUcore-9G20 combines outstanding performance at comparably low cost. Besides Ethernet and CAN, the board provides two USB 2.0 host and USB device interfaces. The user-programmable FPGA allows for realizing time-critical I/O and peripherals on-board.
ECUcore-5484
Targeting at applications that require high-speed data acquisition and real-time communication like Ethernet Powerlink, the ECUcore-5484 combines an on-board FPGA, fast CPU with performance optimized memory layout and a variety of communication interfaces.
ECUcore-5208
The ECUcore-5208 meets the requirements of typical low-end applications, such as point-of-sale and access control devices, providing numerous communication interfaces, a real-time clock and NAND flash mass data storage.
ECUcore-1130
Equipped with four CAN interfaces, Fast Ethernet, three serial ports, and an on-board FPGA, the ECUcore-1130 is ideally suited for embedded control applications that require high computing power combined with complex networking abilities. A specially adapted PXROS-HR board support package provides a good starting point for own safety application development.

Evaluation and start-up – the ECUcore Starter Kits
The ECUcore modules are designed to be plugged onto applicable development boards. Both, the module and development board, are included in the Starter Kit. The development board contains standard I/O connectors, such like CAN, EIA-232 (RS-232), EIA-485 (RS-485), Ethernet RJ45, as well as user-programmable LEDs, push buttons, switches, ADC, DAC and a patch field. The development board also provides the circuitry required for immediate start-up of the module, as well as other interface circuitry (e.g. BDM, JTAG) not provided on the SBC module itself. The SBC, when mounted on the development board, provides an excellent platform with which to evaluate controllers, develop software, as well as specify and determine the feasibility of new embedded designs.
