CANopen seminar in Toulouse
Erlangen, Germany, June 6, 2007. CAN in Automation (CiA) has scheduled a CANopen seminar in Toulouse, France for October 17, 2007. The one-day seminar provides an overview of the CANopen higher-layer protocol. The seminar in English language will take place at the Sofitel Hotel at Toulouse Airport from 10 am till 5 pm. CANopen is the standardized CAN-based higher-layer protocol for embedded networks (EN 50325-4). The information provided will enable development engineers and system integrators to judge whether CANopen is suitable for their application. Participants will be taking a detailed look at the technical opportunities of the protocol and its services and frameworks (e.g. CANopen manager, Layer Setting Services, CANopen Safety). Important aspects of application and system design will be taught. The CiA trainer will also explain CANopen device and application profiles, which enable a high degree of “plug-and-play” compatibility between devices. Furthermore, the trainer will demonstrate that CANopen supports multi-level networking via standardized bridges and gateways, e.g. for TCP/IP, AS-I, etc.
It will be useful for participants to know basics of the CAN protocol before attending. Further information and online registration is available at www.can-cia.org or at +49-9131-69086-0, or via e-mail from headquarters@can-cia.org.
